ISN'T IT BETTER TO JUST LEAVE THIS AREA ALL UNINCORPORATED?
No, because developers are trying to decide for us what will happen in our unincorporated areas. Building developments that add hundreds if not thousands of new homes in our area. These homes might not be next door to you however they do affect your way of life and your taxes.

Such large scale housing developments will add more students in our schools, place more traffic on our roads stretching the budget to widen the existing roads, and pay for additional fire and rescue protection and much more. A rapidly growing population translates into the need for added services  by these new residents. This all translates into higher taxes to all residents from many different directions on your tax bill.

When you become incorporated as a village you have more control on what type of developments are being built and have more zoning regulations. Also you can have larger impact fees from the developers to offset additional costs to the schools districts.

DIDN'T WE ALREADY HAVE A VOICE IN WHAT HAPPENS TO OUR AREA WHEN WE WERE UNINCORPORATED?
When this area was unincorporated you only had 1 voice representing you on the Kane County Board out of 26. The other 25 county board members are from other cities in Kane County not from our area. A village will give you local residents on a village board that are concerned about our area.

WILL CAMPTON HILLS BE ABLE TO GET MORE MONEY FOR OUR AREA FROM THE STATE OF ILLINOIS?
A city or town government will receive substantial amounts of state revenues which do not flow to an unincorporated community. Also the State of Illinois gives municipalities a larger share of the Motor Fuel Tax than if you are unincorporated. In addition the sales tax dollars spent in the village will now stay in our community instead of being spread throughout the county.

MANY TIMES I HEAR THERE IS NOT THAT MUCH LAND TO DEVELOP WITH THE VILLAGE OF CAMPTON HILLS, IS THAT TRUE?
There is approx 3000 acres of undeveloped land that is available for development within the Village boundary that can be developed either for housing or commercial.

DOES CAMPTON HILLS HAVE A POLICE DEPARTMENT THAT WILL BE SPECIFICALLY FOR THE VILLAGE AND NOT FOR ALL OF KANE COUNTY LIKE THE SHERIFF DEPARTMENT?
Yes the Village of Campton Hills will have dedicated police officers on duty 24 hours every day patrolling the village and be able to address the residents concerns.
